The chairman of All Progressive Congress (APC), Benue state chapter, Chief Benjamin Omale has applauded a former governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), in the state in the 2015 governorship election and former speaker of the Benue State Assembly, Ambassador Terhemen Tarzoor for his decision to endorse the administration and reelection bid of Governor Hyacinth Alia come 2027.

Chief Omale who acknowledged the league of endorsement and wide acceptance of Governor Hyacinth Alia in the state said he has reengineered governance in the state since the return of democracy in 1999 with good governance.

He highlighted massive road infrastructure, flyovers and Underpass projects, flood and erosion control intervention, health, education and human capital development, saying such leadership style is attracting men of good conscience to build a better Benue, a job Ambassador Terhemen Tarzoor’s coming, and will help contribute to.

Recall that Ambassador Terhemen Tarzoor had, at a press conference in Makurdi, thrown his weight behind the administration of Governor Hyacinth Alia, citing visible transformation and a genuine commitment to service across the state.

Tarzoor made the declaration during a World Press Conference held at the NUJ House in Makurdi on Monday, October 27, 2025, urging citizens to support the Governor’s ongoing development agenda.

On his address to journalists, the former Benue Speaker stated that the current direction of the state under Governor Alia vividly reflects the aspirations he held for Benue a decade ago.

“Today, I find immense joy and reassurance in seeing those same aspirations reflected so vividly in the visionary leadership of His Excellency, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia,”

He further added that “The renewed hope, the smiles, and the palpable satisfaction among our people speak volumes of a government working with sincerity, accountability, and a clear sense of purpose.”

The former gubernatorial candidate highlight Gov. Alia administration’s focus on massive infrastructural strides, urban renewal in the capital city, and prudent management of state affairs. He specifically commended the quality of road infrastructure, diversification of the economy, and the Governor’s steadfast commitment to workers’ welfare.

Speaking on the development, Chief Benjamin Omale praised Ambassador Tarzoor for the decision to back the administration of Reverend Father Hyacinth Alia.

Chief Omale added that, “Tarzoor has taken the best decision to quit the camp of those that are criticizing the administration and join hands with the governor after realizing that he is performing excellently well.”

According to Chief Omale, Tarzoor’s decision to join the administration of Father Hyacinth Alia is a testament that the administration is delivering dividends of democracy to the good people of Benue State in all areas of governance.

The state APC chairman pressed further that Governor Alia’s achievements in the areas of good roads, infrastructures, quality health, quality education, electrification, Agriculture, empowerment and other areas of governance are in the public domain for everyone to see.

He promised that the party will extend its hands of fellowship, love and support to Dr. Tarzoor as he has now identified with the administration of Father Hyacinth Alia.

He also promised that the party will support everyone , group and people that throw their weights behind the administration, saying that to develop Benue State should be a collective effort.

Chief Omale however urged other good sons and daughters of Benue State that are still sitting on the fence to quickly join hands with Governor Hyacinth Alia in his quest to bring massive development to the state.
