Ahead of 2027: All APC Members Who Defected Have Returned Home in Nasarawa — Aliyu Bello Reaffirms Loyalty to Governor Sule
By David Odama
The Nasarawa State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Aliyu Bello, has announced that all party members who had earlier defected to other political platforms in the state have returned to the APC.
Dr. Bello also reaffirmed the party’s loyalty to Governor Abdullahi Sule, commending his unwavering support and commitment to the unity and progress of the APC in the state.
“Through the effort of our dear governor, Abdullahi Sule, I’m proud to declare that all members of our party who previously sought ‘greener pastures’ elsewhere have now returned home to the APC,” he stated.
Speaking while receiving Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada of the SDP, who officially decamped to the APC, Dr. Bello said the party in Nasarawa was now in full control of all its members, a development he attributed to Governor Sule’s exemplary leadership.
Reaffirming the party’s strength, the APC chairman dismissed claims that the APC had lost political ground in the state, describing such notions as propaganda.
“Those who left the APC to seek greener pastures elsewhere are still part of us. Every one of them who contested and won elections did so as true members of our great party,” Bello maintained.
He further praised Governor Sule for his leadership, infrastructure development, and governance style, noting that these have made the APC the preferred choice for politicians in the state.
“Engineer A.A. Sule has provided leadership, infrastructure, and governance direction that make APC the party to beat. Those claiming the party has collapsed should ask themselves why they seek to contest under it. Our total loyalty is to God Almighty and to the leadership of His Excellency, Engineer Abdullahi Sule,” Bello declared.
He added that the governor’s patience, tolerance, and commitment to unity have strengthened the APC, while his achievements in security, education, and healthcare continue to attract new members and returnees.
Dr. Bello urged members to remain united and avoid divisive comments, assuring that the APC would provide a fair and level playing field for all aspirants ahead of future elections.
“As leaders, we must embrace sportsmanship and work together for whoever emerges as the party’s flag bearer. APC will remain the party to beat,” he emphasized.
In his remarks, Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada described his return to the APC as a “homecoming,” expressing gratitude to Governor Sule and the party leadership for their warm reception.
“I am back to my home — the home I labored for, served, and helped to grow. As one of the founding members of the NPDP that merged to form the APC, it is only natural and responsible that I return home,” he said.
Wadada recalled his political journey and lauded Governor Sule’s fairness and statesmanship, noting that his leadership has transformed Nasarawa State.
“In 2019, destiny played out. I accepted God’s will and supported Engineer Sule, who has since justified the trust of the people. He has elevated Nasarawa State beyond expectations,” he added.
The senator disclosed that his return to the APC was a collective decision supported by his wide political base, including religious, traditional, and youth groups across the state.
“I am back with members from PDP, SDP, and other political parties. We are united under one vision — to support Governor Sule and strengthen the APC,” he affirmed.
Wadada commended the governor’s inclusive governance style, saying, “Even when I was in the SDP, His Excellency never discriminated. He showed understanding and magnanimity, which helped stabilize our political environment. May God continue to reward him.”
Both leaders emphasized the importance of unity and discipline within the APC, pledging to consolidate the party’s achievements and ensure victory in upcoming elections.
The event, attended by top APC stalwarts, supporters, and stakeholders, was described as a symbol of reconciliation and renewed commitment to strengthening the ruling party in Nasarawa State.
