Primate of the Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion, Most Reverend Henry Ndukuba, has called on political office holders to give special attention to the welfare of citizens.

Addressing the congregation during the confirmation, induction, and admission of women into the Church Mothers’ Guild at the Our Saviour’s Anglican Church, Durumi, Abuja, Most Reverend Ndukuba noted that most Nigerians are going through challenges due to the effects of the global economic downturn.

He urged state and local government authorities to come up with initiatives to cushion the impact on citizens.

The Primate also stressed the need for the Federal Government to effectively monitor the implementation of its programs to ensure Nigerians benefit fully from the dividends of democracy.

He argued that if the present administration can effectively tackle corruption, the country would gain significantly from the economic policies of the Tinubu-led government.

The Anglican Primate admonished the congregation not to relent in praying for those in authority and to remain committed to national unity.

He tasked the newly inducted and admitted members to embark on aggressive evangelism and preach the gospel of Jesus Christ.
