Benue: Gov. Alia Denies Involvement in Alleged Move to Impeach Speaker Dajoh – Kula

Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has dismissed claims linking him to any attempt to impeach the Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Hyacinth Aondona Dajoh.
In a statement issued on Friday by his Chief Press Secretary (CPS), Tersoo Kula, and made available to newsmen in Makurdi, the governor clarified that he has no role in the purported plot.
“The attention of Government House, Makurdi, has been drawn to speculations regarding alleged moves to impeach the Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Hyacinth Aondona Dajoh,” the statement read.
“It is therefore necessary to state that Governor Hyacinth Alia is not aware of, and has no involvement whatsoever in, any such attempt to remove the Speaker or in any activities currently taking place in the Benue State House of Assembly. The Governor holds the legislature in the highest esteem and maintains unwavering respect for the rule of law as well as the principle of separation of powers among the three arms of government.”
Alia further stressed that he has always responded promptly to communications and resolutions transmitted by the Assembly, citing a recent instance where he swiftly implemented key resolutions forwarded to his office.
He added that his administration continues to enjoy a cordial and productive relationship with the Dajoh-led Assembly, assuring that he remains committed to supporting the legislature in fulfilling its mandate for the development of Benue State.
