A National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member serving in Benue State, Mr. Silas Okolie, has donated two desktop computers and a system unit to Padopads Harmony Secondary School, Makurdi, the Benue State capital.

Okolie, who also presented a white projection flex banner on Thursday, said the gesture was part of his Community Development Service (CDS) project.

He explained that the donation was aimed at supporting government efforts to revamp the education system and improve teaching and learning standards in the beneficiary school.

“My aim is to assist our young stars to have the basic learning equipment to excel in their academic pursuits.

“I believe that to address the problem of education in the state, we must first identify the issues and proffer solutions. That is why I feel the students need computers, considering the importance of digital literacy in today’s world,” Okolie stated.

The corps member expressed gratitude to the founder of Elite Leadership Foundation, Mr. Caius Eze, and Mr. John Wallace, whose support contributed to the success of the project.

Our correspondent reports that prior to the donation, Okolie had organized a Digital Literacy Training Programme in the school, awarding certificates of participation to students who took part.
