Efforts Ongoing To Ease Giri Gridlock – FCT FRSC Appeal To Motorists
By our Correspondent
The FCT Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps FRSC, Mr. Felix Theman, has appealed to motorists plying the Gwagwalada–Giri highway to exercise patience as efforts are ongoing to ease the gridlock.
Speaking with our correspondent this morning, the Sector Commander explained that the issue with the truck drivers, which arose from a minor misunderstanding, has been resolved with the concern authority and measures are being taken to ease traffic along the route.
According to him, the situation worsened because most of the trailers and trucks blocking the road had no batteries to start their vehicles this morning, after the issue was resolved late yesterday.
To this end, he said that the FRSC had gone out of its way to hire batteries for the truck drivers to enable them to start their vehicles and move to their destinations.
Mr. Theman urged road users along the route to be patient and make use of the only available lane that was opened until the trucks are cleared.
He assured that FRSC personnel would continue to control traffic and enforce lane discipline to ensure the free flow of vehicles along the Gwagwalada–Giri and Gwagwalada–Kuje routes.
