FG Inaugurates Committees for Civil Service Audit, Skills Gap Analysis
The Federal Government has inaugurated committees for the Civil Service Personnel Audit and Skills Gap Analysis as part of efforts to transform the nation’s public service.
Speaking at the inauguration in Abuja, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, said the Steering and Project Implementation Committees will operate in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
She noted that the exercise is aimed at building a modern, efficient, and fit-for-purpose Civil Service by ascertaining the actual size, structure, and skills composition of the workforce, while identifying the competencies needed for improved service delivery.
According to her, the initiative will also identify present and future skills gaps in critical sectors such as ICT, project management, public finance, and data analysis. It will equally strengthen training programmes for targeted capacity development and improve Human Resource Management systems.
The committee is tasked with providing policy direction, approving key milestones, and ensuring alignment with the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan 2021–2025 (FCSSIP-25).
While the Steering Committee is expected to conclude its assignment within six months, the Project Implementation Committee is mandated to submit its report within four months.
