FORMER HEAD OF SERVICE TASKS RELIGIOUS INSTITUTIONS ON HEALTH CARE DELIVERY

A former Head of Service of the Federation Ms Amal People has called on Religious institutions to compliment Federal Government efforts at provide efficient and affordable health care services to citizens.

Ms Amal Pepple who made the call at the Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion Health Summit in Abuja said President Bola Tinubu’s health policies are geared towards enhancing health care delivery in the country.

“The federal ministry of health has commissioned three World Class Oncology Centers in Katsina, Nsukka and Benin over the past few days as part of a broader initiative under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda”.

“It has also been announced that the Federal Government is about to commence s health insurance coverage for its retirees”.

She stressed the need for the Church to appeal to members who manufacture and market drugs to desist from bringing in fake and adulterated medicines which compound the nation’s health woes.

According to Amal Pepple, health Care should not be left alone for the government.

She commended the leadership of the Anglican church for taking a lead in utilizing the available resources to attend to the multitude of sick people.

Declaring the summit open, Primate Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion Most Reverend Henry Ndukuba called on the health workers and professionals who are members to use their talent and skills to assist the church in establishing a world class hospital to combat challenges in the country’s health care delivery.

Most Reverend Henry Ndukuba, who decried the present state of medical facilities across the country, emphasized the need for the government to prioritize the health citizenry.

He pledged that the Church would continue to collaborate with non-governmental organizations, wealthy individuals, and the government to cater to the health needs of Nigerians.

The Anglican Primate used the summit to direct all Dioceses across the country to establish health care centers to compliment the spiritual development of their members.

Health Professionals ,Policy makers and clergy Men who attended the summit commended the Anglican Church for the initiative and pledged to support every program to improve health care delivery at all levels.
