How FG, States, and LG Councils Shared N2 Trillion Federation Revenue for July 2025

A total of N2.001 trillion, representing the Federation Account Revenue for July 2025, has been distributed among the Federal Government, States, and Local Government Councils.

The revenue allocation took place at the August 2025 Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) meeting in Abuja.

Breakdown of the distributable revenue showed that it comprised statutory revenue of N1.282 trillion, Value Added Tax (VAT) revenue of N640.610 billion, Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL) of N37.601 billion, and Exchange Difference of N39.745 billion.

According to the communiqué issued by FAAC, the total gross revenue for July 2025 stood at N3.836 trillion. From this, N152.681 billion was deducted as cost of collection, while N1.683 trillion went into transfers, interventions, refunds, and savings.

The communiqué further disclosed that gross statutory revenue for the month was N3.070 trillion, a decline of N415.108 billion compared to the N3.485 trillion recorded in June 2025. Conversely, gross VAT revenue rose to N687.940 billion in July, slightly higher by N9.775 billion than June’s figure of N678.165 billion.

Out of the N2.001 trillion distributable revenue, the Federal Government received N735.081 billion, States received N660.349 billion, and Local Government Councils got N485.039 billion. Additionally, N120.359 billion (13% of mineral revenue) was shared to oil-producing States as derivation.

From the N1.282 trillion statutory revenue, the Federal Government collected N613.805 billion, States received N311.330 billion, Local Governments got N240.023 billion, while N117.714 billion was shared as derivation revenue.

For the N640.610 billion VAT revenue, the Federal Government received N96.092 billion, States got N320.305 billion, and Local Governments collected N224.214 billion.

On the N37.601 billion EMTL, the Federal Government received N5.640 billion, States got N18.801 billion, and Local Governments received N13.160 billion.

From the N39.745 billion Exchange Difference, the Federal Government received N19.544 billion, States received N9.913 billion, and Local Governments got N7.643 billion, while N2.643 billion went to derivation.

The communiqué also noted that in July 2025, Petroleum Profit Tax (PPT), Oil and Gas Royalty, EMTL, and Excise Duty recorded significant increases, while VAT and Import Duty rose marginally. However, Companies Income Tax (CIT) and CET Levies declined within the same period.
