How Police got Phones of Kidnappers who abducted judge in Bayelsa

The Bayelsa State Police Command has began investigation into the abduction of a justice of the State High Court, Justice Umukoro on Saturday night.

Justice Umukoro of Court 7, was abducted by armed men in black uniforms and with an unclear inscription in front of a popular eatery, Kilimanjaro, at the Ekeki area of Saturday.

The Network gathered that the kidnappers left the telephone of the judge and another phone believed to be owned by one of them at the crime scene.

A source told the Network on Sunday that the Nigerian Bar Association has handed over the two phones to the Nigerian police in Yenagoa.

The source said that the phone of one of the kidnappers fell down during the struggle to forcibly abduct Justice Umukoro who resisted them.

Shocked residents who witnessed the crime stated that the kidnappers fired a shot at judge but missed.

They were said to have blocked him with an unmarked white hilux van and whisked him away.

The kidnappers did not take the black prado jeep in which he was riding at the time of his abduction.

A blogger, This is Bayelsa, posted a video of the crime scene’ which was reposted on the platform of the Nigeria Bar Association, Yenagoa.

In the video, Justice Umukoro was seen struggling with his abductors who forced him into the white hilux unchallenged before driving away.
