According to a report by Punch Newspapers on Sunday, September 14, 2025, a 23-year-old man, Ememobong Nyong, has recounted how his paternal relatives allegedly forced him to undergo a DNA test—an ordeal that ultimately led to his rejection by the only family he had ever known, leaving him homeless.

Nyong, originally from Akwa Ibom State but now living in Lagos, told Sunday PUNCH that his life changed drastically after the DNA test, which was reportedly carried out without his full consent and in the absence of any maternal family member. The result revealed that he was not the biological child of the man he had believed to be his father for nearly twenty years.
