Senate Spokesperson Refutes Claims of Ransom Payment in Kebbi, Niger Schoolchildren Abductions
Senate spokesperson Yemi Adaramodu has rejected reports suggesting that the Federal Government paid ransom to secure the release of schoolchildren recently kidnapped in Kebbi and Niger States.
Senator Adaramodu dismissed the allegations as entirely untrue, emphasizing that no financial inducement was offered to the abductors at any point during the rescue operations. He reaffirmed that the Federal Government upholds a strict policy against negotiating with criminals or offering ransom.
He urged the public to disregard the circulating reports, assuring citizens that the administration remains committed to addressing insecurity through lawful, strategic, and non-financial measures rather than resorting to ransom payments.
