Senator Barau Felicitates First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on 65th Birthday
The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, CFR, FCNA, has extended warm felicitations to Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, as she marks her 65th birthday today.
His goodwill message was contained in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ismail Mudashir, and made available to journalists in Abuja.
In his congratulatory message, Senator Barau commended the First Lady’s remarkable contributions to nation-building, particularly through her flagship programme, the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI).
“I join all Nigerians and well-wishers across the globe in congratulating Her Excellency, the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, on the joyous occasion of her 65th birthday.
“A patriotic Nigerian par excellence, Her Excellency has played a pivotal role in strengthening democracy in the country with immense, sterling, and novel contributions.
“Through her pet project, the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), Her Excellency, the Mother of the Nation, has continued to provide lasting solutions to pressing national challenges since 2023.”
Senator Barau also noted that Mrs. Tinubu’s impact predates her current role, recalling her achievements as First Lady of Lagos State (1999–2007), where she touched the lives of millions of women, children, and youths through the New Era Foundation.
He further highlighted her legislative record, stating that between 2011 and 2023, when she represented Lagos Central in the Senate, she was relentless in addressing national issues through the committees she chaired and served on.
“I pray to God to bless Her Excellency with long life, good health, and wisdom as she continues to support the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, in the successful delivery of the Renewed Hope Agenda for the peace and progress of our dear nation.
“Once again, happy birthday, Your Excellency, the Mother of the Nation,” he added.
