Shehu Sani donates to Mokwa flood victims, says it’s tragedy for Nigeria

Former Senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District, Shehu Sani has described flood that rocked Mokwa in Niger State as a tragedy for the whole of Nigeria.

He called on well meaning Nigerians to rally round the victims, stating that now is the time to show and demonstrate empathy and compassion to the orphans, widows and widowers left behind by the victims.

He donated the sum of N1 million to the Niger State Emergency Distress Fund and said, “we lost the bodies of our brothers and sisters and we must not lose their souls.

“The Mokwa tragedy is a dark cloud of responsibility hanging over the sky of our country.

“The nation must learn from the Mokwa lesson by investing our resources to better the lives of our people.

The Civil Rights Activist urged the Federal Government to allocate a special budget to rebuilding Mokwa for the sake of those who lost their lives in the flood disaster.

“The Federal Government should initiate a special budget to rebuild Mokwa to a modern town in honor of the spirit of those who lost their lives.”
