Nigeria’s Super Falcons produced a sensational second-half comeback to defeat hosts Morocco 3-2 and clinch the CAF Women’s Football Championship title, reinforcing their reputation as Africa’s most successful women’s football team.

In a high-octane final at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, the Falcons overturned a two-goal deficit from the first half, showcasing resilience, tactical discipline, and star quality against a determined Moroccan side backed by a passionate home crowd.

The Super Falcons made an early breakthrough in the 12th minute when Asisat Oshoala pounced on a defensive error and unleashed a low drive into the net. Nigeria doubled their lead in the 28th minute, courtesy of Uchenna Kanu’s powerful header from a well-delivered set-piece.

Morocco, however, roared back into the game with spirit and determination. Salma Amani halved the deficit in the 35th minute with a brilliant curling effort from the edge of the area. The equalizer came shortly after the restart, as Ibtissam Jraidi was quick to react to a rebound, leveling the tie and igniting wild celebrations among the home fans.

Nigeria, unfazed by the momentum shift, found their winner in the 74th minute. Substitute Rasheedat Ajibade weaved through three defenders before calmly slotting home to restore Nigeria’s lead in spectacular fashion.

At the final whistle, jubilation erupted from the Nigerian bench and their traveling supporters, as the Super Falcons celebrated their record-extending 12th CAF Women’s Championship title.
