Suspected Arms Dealer Linked to Plateau Attacks Arrested by DSS Operatives
The Department of State Services (DSS) says its operatives have dismantled an alleged arms supply network connected to attacks in Plateau State and surrounding regions, leading to the arrest of a suspected arms dealer.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the agency revealed that the suspect was allegedly involved in the production and distribution of weapons and ammunition to armed groups operating within Plateau and other northern states.
He was arrested on November 12, 2025, after intelligence reports directed operatives to his workshop in the Mista Ali area of Bassa Local Government Area, Plateau State.
According to the DSS, items recovered from the workshop included components of improvised explosive devices, chemicals, and various equipment.
“Operatives of the Department of State Services have successfully disrupted a major arms supply network linked to terrorist activities in Plateau and neighbouring states. The operation resulted in the arrest of Musa Abubakar, a key arms dealer, based on precise intelligence on November 12, 2025,” the statement said.
“The suspect admitted to producing and distributing high-calibre weapons and ammunition to armed groups responsible for violent attacks in Plateau State and other northern regions.
“His arrest followed credible intelligence on his activities, which prompted a targeted operation on his arms manufacturing workshop in the Mista Ali area of Bassa Local Government Area, Plateau State.”
The secret service recently re-arrested Abdulazeez Obadaki, also known as Bomboy, a Kuje Prison escapee linked to the Owo and Deeper Life Church attacks.
It had also earlier announced the arrest of nine suspects, including 46-year-old Timna Manjol.
