Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau, has expressed gratitude to individuals and groups for endorsing him to contest the House of Representatives seat for Keffi/Kokona/Karu Federal Constituency in 2027.

Jatau gave the remarks in Lafia when he received the Danladi Jatau Gida Gida Support Group from his home community, Bassa District in Kokona Local Government Area.

The Speaker, who is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), assured the people that he would heed their call at the appropriate time, once the electoral process officially commences. He appreciated their confidence in him and their appeal for him to represent the constituency in 2027.

“I want to appreciate you for the visit and for calling on me to contest for the House of Representatives seat of Keffi/Kokona/Karu Federal Constituency come 2027. I assure you that I will respond at the right time. Service to humanity has always been my priority, and I will continue to do my best to improve the living standard of our people,” Jatau said.

The Speaker further pledged that Governor Abdullahi Sule would rehabilitate the Garaku/Bassa road, describing it as a critical project that would boost agriculture and socio-economic activities in the area.

“By God’s grace, His Excellency, Governor Abdullahi Sule, will construct the Bassa road, which has been in a deplorable state and negatively affecting our people. The governor is passionate about development and committed to the welfare of our communities. Let us continue to pray for him, protect the government’s interest, and support his administration,” he added.

Jatau assured that if elected into the Green Chamber of the National Assembly, he would leverage his experience to attract more development to the constituency. He also urged the people of the state to live in peace and embrace tolerance regardless of their affiliations.

Earlier, Chairman of the group, Mr. Ayuba Dodo, alongside women’s representative Ruth Adigizi, said the visit was to commend the Speaker for his exemplary leadership.

They highlighted his achievements in areas such as employment, empowerment, education, and agriculture. While calling on him to contest the House of Representatives seat, they pledged to mobilize massive support across Keffi, Kokona, and Karu LGAs to ensure his victory in 2027.

The group further reaffirmed their loyalty to Jatau, endorsing him as their sole candidate for the constituency seat, while appealing to Governor Sule to fast-track the construction of the Garaku/Bassa road to ease the challenges of the people.
