Bill for Establishment of PDA, Okigwe passes second reading

A bill for an act to establish the Project Development Agency and for related matters, 2023 ( SB. 1097)sponsored by Senator Frank Ibezim(APC)representing Imo North senatorial district has passed second reading on the floor of the Senate.

The bill speaks on the establishment of the Project Development Agency charged with the broad function of generating and catalyzing industrialization by carrying out industrial research from the laboratory stage and by rendering consultancy services to Government, Industry and Individuals in Imo State.

Senator Ibezim disclosed that the bill is put together in response to the desires of his constituents, who are in dire need of research development centres, adding that it will be effective in research and the development of the country and also showcase the natural resources in Imo State.

The bill is read the second time and referred to the committee on Science and Technology to report back within four weeks.
