Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has appointed a Chinese national, Li Zhensheng, as his economic adviser.

The appointment was announced during the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Bauchi State Government and the China Global Promotion Cooperation Research Centre in Bauchi.

According to The Punch, Governor Mohammed explained that the move aims to position the state as an emerging hub for international cooperation, boosting investment, infrastructure growth, and long-term bilateral collaborations across key sectors.

The agreement is expected to impact agriculture, healthcare, mining, education, manufacturing, trade, and the oil and gas sector. The governor noted that while the MoU outlines the partnership framework, specific project agreements will be developed subsequently.

He further revealed that part of the arrangement includes establishing a Bauchi State representative office in China to oversee project execution and ensure timely delivery.
