Terror: How Gunmen Attacked Motor Park in Kwara state , Killed Six, injured Two

There is palpable tension and shock in Ilesha Baruba community in Baruten Local Government Area of Kwara State, as gunmen launched a vicious attack on a local motor park, leaving four people dead and two others critically injured.

It was gathered that about 10 armed men stormed the park around 9:30pm on Monday and began shooting indiscriminately at individuals gathered at a nearby relaxation spot.

Among the victims confirmed dead are Alhaji Ja’awire, Abduljabar, and Mohammed Nasamu, along with three others whose identities have yet to be confirmed.

Security operatives responded to the scene, where the deceased were taken to the Ilesha Baruba morgue for autopsy.

The injured victims were rushed to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention.

The Kwara State Police Command which confirmed the incident in a statement on Tuesday said a suspected informant linked to the banditry network had been arrested.

The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Toun Ejire, said the command responded immediately when it received information on the Ilesha Baruba attack around 11:30 p.m.

“Suspected armed men, numbering about ten, stormed the Ilesha Baruba Motor Park and opened fire on civilians.

According to the statement,”Six people lost their lives, while two others sustained serious gunshot injuries,”

“The deceased have been taken to the Ilesha Baruba Morgue for autopsy, while the injured are receiving medical attention.
