A Non Governmental Organisation known as the Peoples Assembly of Nigeria PAN has slammed the Factional President of the National Association of Nigerian Students NANS. Atiku Abubakar Isah for allowing himself to be used by opposition politicians against Seyi Tinubu

PAN in a statement signed by its chairman Usman Nagadi said after investigating the allegations levelled against Seyi Tinubu by the NANS president he found out they were all baseless and untrue

He said the only motive for the lie is politics and greed nothing else

He explained that investigation had revealed that the NANS president had tried to extort N100million from Tinubu and failed and thereafter decided to join the opposition to malign him

He said the whole story is full of holes and make-believe

Nagadi therefore called on the NANS president to desist from the act immediately and apologise to Tinubu while he can before the full weight of the law descends on him

He said the whole allegation is caused by the fact that his extortionist demands were not met

Tinubu, the son of President Bola Tinubu, had denied the allegations of abduction, coercion, and bribery made against him by the (NANS), president Atiku Abubakar Isah.

He described the NANS president’s claims as “completely fictional” and an attempt to damage his reputation.

Taking to his Instagram account Seyi Tinubu responded to the accusations with disbelief.

“Wow… how can someone lie with so much confidence? An attempt to defame my character. May God be with you, Comrade Atiku Isah,” he wrote.

He further clarified that he has never met or held any meeting with Isah:

“I have never held a meeting to discuss any subject matter with Comrade Isah in Lagos or anywhere else in the world. I have never knowingly met him before. Neither did I visit any location with thugs,” he stated.

The response came following a press conference held on Wednesday by Isah, during which he said that Seyi Tinubu and the Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, offered him a ₦100 million bribe in Lagos to support President Tinubu. Isah claimed he rejected the offer, citing unmet promises and the lack of performance by the Tinubu administration.

The student leader also said he was abducted on 15 April after he turned down the bribe. According to Isah, he was “stripped naked and beaten” by a group that included the Managing Director of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), and was coerced into issuing a false press statement under duress.
