*”As the African saying goes, “To whom much is given, much is expected.”* I will like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the organizers of this historic and impactful program, the **Academy for International Business Officials (AIBO)** and the **Ministry of Commerce, China* and as we gather to conclude this significant seminar on Healthy Aging and the Senior Care Industry, I wish to express my sincere appreciation to each of you” He said
“Your presence today underscores our shared commitment to enhancing the lives of aged persons the world over and permit me to acknowledge the representatives from our partner countries:
– **Nigeria** with 5 dedicated delegates,
– **Tanzania** ,10 enthusiastic participants,
– **Gambia** with 6 committed representatives and
– **Lesotho** , with 2 insightful delegates”.
“Special thanks to the **Academy for International Business Officials (AIBO)** and the **Ministry of Commerce, China**, whose support has made this seminar a reality. Your contributions have allowed us to share knowledge, experiences, and strategies that will positively impact our communities and as we reflect on our experiences, I will like to highlight several key challenges that we must collectively address:
1. **Access to Quality Healthcare**: It is imperative that all seniors receive adequate medical attention and support and we must advocate for policies that prioritize healthcare accessibility.
2. **Social Inclusion**: Addressing isolation among the elderly is essential. To this end, we should implement community programs that promote social interaction and engagement.
3. **Training and Education**: Investing in caregiver training is critical. Let us develop programs that equip caregivers with the necessary skills to provide compassionate and effective care.
4. **Technological Integration**: Embracing technology to enhance senior care is vital. This includes telehealth services and health monitoring systems to ensure our elderly can benefit from modern advancements.
5. **Cultural Sensitivity**: Understanding and respecting the diverse backgrounds of our seniors will improve the quality of care. Promoting cultural competence among caregivers and healthcare providers is essential” Comrade Adeleke stressed
According to him, given the significant geographical and climatic differences between Africa and China, it is advisable to allow participants a minimum of two days to acclimatize upon arrival in China before activities commence.
“This adjustment period will help participants recover from jet lag, adapt to the new environment, and perform optimally throughout the program noting that establishing a follow-up mechanism to assess the outcomes and impact of the program on participants is recommended and this could include periodic reports, virtual check-ins, or project updates to ensure knowledge transfer, sustained collaboration, and continuous improvement”. He emphasized
“Finally, I want you all to know that the vision and dream of Africa is not to compete, but to win and win big together “. Comrade Adeleke added.
