Democracy Day: President General Of YFDA Congratulates Nigerians, Tasks FG On Youth Empowerment

The President General of a Non – Governmental Organization, Youth Forum for Development in Africa, YFDA, Amb. Dr. Mayor Paschal Anyanwu has congratulated President Bola Tinubu and Nigerians on the occasion of the country’s 26th Democracy Day celebration.

Speaking with newsmen in Abuja on Nigeria’s 26th Democracy Day celebration, Amb . Dr. Mayor Paschal Anyanwu who is also the President General of Association of NGOs CEOs in Nigeria said despite all challenges, democracy still remain the best form of governance if all leaders and political office holders can be honest, transparent and patriotic to the project called Nigeria.

While expressing concern over the challenges confronting Nigerian youths since the return of democracy in 1999, the Youth Leader enjoined Government at all levels to be committed to programmes that would empower Nigerian youths.

“It’s quite unfortunate that greater percentage of Nigerian youths have not benefitted from the Government since the return of democracy in 1999 and this development is disturbing because youths are the future leaders of the country however some youths are not helping matter due to their attitude to life and national development therefore I want to appeal to President Bola Tinubu’s led administration to give priority to youth empowerment through various NGOs we have in the country because NGOs are the only organizations that can reach out to all youths nationwide most especially those at the grassroots ” He stated.

He also used the opportunity to appeal to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to direct officials responsible for the release of various grants subscribed to by some Nigerians and NGOs to improve their businesses and economic wellbeing as they could no longer bear the current worsening economic hardship in the country.

Amb. Dr Mayor Anyanwu explained that over 50 million Nigerians who subscribed for the grant over the years, are eagerly waiting for the disbursement, even as he regretted that some of them have died, while many are currently sick, frustrated, depressed, homeless, while some have had their children chased from school in the course of waiting for the grant.

He expressed believe in the capacity of President Tinubu to listen to the cry of the dying masses explained that the urgent release of the grant would no doubt increase the confidence of the people especially in the renewed hope agenda of the current administration

The President General of YFDA equally called on Nigerians to pray for the success of the current administration just as he noted that President Tinubu will not disappoint the masses at a critical time as this.

While calling for more measures to support MSMEs in the country, Dr Paschal Anyanwu emphasized the need for more public private sector collaboration towards addressing the nation’s economic challenges.
