Oluwatimileyin Sentenced to Death by Hanging Over Killing of NYSC Member

A High Court sitting in Lafia, Nasarawa State, has sentenced Oluwatimileyin Ajayi to death by hanging after finding him guilty in the case involving the death of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, Salome Adaidu.

Presiding Judge, Justice Simon Aboki, delivered the verdict on Wednesday, convicting Ajayi of culpable homicide for the killing and dismemberment of the young corps member.

Ajayi was tried on a single count of culpable homicide, contrary to Section 221 of the Penal Code applicable in Northern Nigeria, which prescribes capital punishment upon conviction.
