Senator Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan, former President of the 9th Senate, has congratulated Professor Nentawe Yilwatda on his election as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), following the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held on Thursday.

In a statement issued on Thursday, Senator Lawan described Yilwatda’s emergence as a moment of pride and renewed hope for the party and the country, expressing confidence in his ability to lead the APC with purpose and vision.

“Professor Yilwatda’s ascension to this high office reflects the APC’s enduring commitment to purposeful leadership and national unity,” Lawan stated.

He described the new chairman as a respected academic, ardent promoter of good governance, and a loyal party man who brings both intellectual depth and practical experience to the party’s leadership.

According to him, the APC, under Yilwatda’s leadership, is well-positioned to continue implementing people-centered policies, deepen democratic governance, and drive Nigeria’s development agenda.

Senator Lawan also extended his appreciation to the party’s immediate past National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, commending his leadership and contributions to party unity and electoral victories.

He further acknowledged Hon. Ali Dalori, who served in an acting capacity before Yilwatda’s election, for his effective stewardship during the transition period.
