Repent From Your Sins and Seek Forgiveness — Nasarawa PDP Tells Defecting PRO

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Nasarawa State has cautioned the All Progressives Congress (APC) to be wary of individuals courting the ruling party for personal gains, warning that such figures have a history of betrayal.

The opposition party described recent defectors to the APC as self-serving politicians driven by personal benefits rather than the interest of the state.

Reacting to the resignation of the party’s Public Relations Officer, State PDP Chairman, Alhaji Adamu Bako Ninga, said the warning was necessary to protect the state from those who have repeatedly betrayed both Nasarawa and the PDP for selfish reasons.

Ninga urged the former PDP PRO, Hon. Ibrahim Hamza, to repent from “several sins” allegedly committed against the party and to seek forgiveness. He stressed that the PDP remains a large and inclusive party with the sole aim of salvaging Nasarawa State and the nation at large.

According to him, Hamza’s defection was long anticipated and would have no impact on the party’s growth in the state.

> “We have known for a long time that our PRO was not only a PDP member but also a cabinet member whose stock in trade was to betray the party,” Ninga said.
“We are relieved that someone who has been pretending to work for us while actually undermining us has finally left. His exit is a heavy burden lifted from our shoulders.”

Ninga alleged that the former PRO played a role in what the party believes was the loss of its victory to the APC in the 2023 elections.

He called on PDP supporters, stakeholders, and citizens of Nasarawa to remain steadfast, committed, and resilient in their determination to reclaim what the party calls its “stolen mandate” in the 2027 general elections.

> “We are not disturbed by his exit. The party is more prepared than ever to reclaim its mandate in 2027,” he added.

It will be recalled that Ibrahim Hamza resigned from the PDP on Thursday. He has since visited Governor Abdullahi Sule and the APC State Chairman, Akigu Bello, to pledge his loyalty to the ruling party.
