The Managing Director of the Federal Housing Authority (FHA), Rt. Hon. Oyetunde Ojo, has reaffirmed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda is committed to delivering massive housing projects across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). This, he noted, has already taken off with the commencement of housing estates in 17 states.

Ojo made the statement on Tuesday in Abuja during the commissioning of two key projects: the Express View Estate Phase 1—developed through partnerships with the authority—and a shopping complex for residents of the new estates, including the Federal Housing Authority Estate in Lugbe, Abuja.

The Lugbe estate, built on three hectares of land, comprises 50 housing units constructed by BAM Construction Company, occupying 1.5 hectares of the site.

Ojo disclosed that under his leadership in the past 17 months, the FHA has visited governors of all 36 states and the FCT, and acknowledged the donation of free hectares of land by state governments to support estate development nationwide.

Commending governors for not politicizing land allocations for housing projects under the Renewed Hope Agenda, he stressed that this gesture was unique, as it would help address the housing deficit and provide mass housing for Nigerians.

He further assured that beyond acquiring land, the FHA is determined to provide affordable housing for citizens across all categories—irrespective of cadre, position, or social status—purely based on merit and availability.

Recalling the recent commissioning of Ajoda Estate in Ibadan and other ongoing projects, Ojo emphasized that the FHA will continue to complete and commission projects nationwide without abandoning any.

“Nigeria belongs to all of us. The Ministry of Housing and Urban Development under Arc. Musa Dangiwa, working with the FHA, will mobilize under the good intentions of Mr. President to provide mass housing for the first time in the country,” he declared.

He also pledged to sustain reforms that will transform the FHA into a digital, one-stop agency capable of efficiently delivering its statutory functions.

In his remarks, the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Arc. Musa Dangiwa—represented by the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Shuaibu Belgore—reiterated the Ministry’s commitment to decisions that will ensure affordable housing for Nigerians.

According to him, the Ministry has launched several nationwide programs under President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at providing mass housing for all Nigerians regardless of status.

Highlights of the event included the commissioning of the new estate and office complex at Lugbe by the Minister, represented by the Permanent Secretary.
