David Mark Mourns Renowned Editor, Dan Agbese

The National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and former President of the Senate, Senator David Mark, has expressed profound sorrow over the passing of eminent editor and media icon, Dan Agbese.

Senator Mark in a statement by his Media Aide, Paul Mumeh described Agbese’s demise as a personal tragedy, stating that he has lost “a brother and a pathfinder of immense worth.

According to him, “The Nigerian media fraternity has been plunged into deep mourning following the death of one of its finest professionals, Editor Dan Agbese, whose transition signals the end of an era marked by integrity, fearlessness, and unwavering dedication to truth.”

He added that “Editor Agbese was far more than a newsroom leader. He was a national treasure whose pen influenced public discourse, raised journalistic standards, and inspired generations of young reporters nationwide. His career was defined by excellence, depth, fairness, and courage, earning him a respected place among Nigeria’s most revered media icons.”

Senator Mark emphasized that Agbese’s death is a colossal loss not only to journalism but to the nation as a whole. “At a time when truth and accountability are more crucial than ever, Nigeria has lost a voice that consistently championed justice, ethical journalism, and national unity,” he stated.
