PRESIDENT TINUBU HONOURS DANTSOHO WITH AWARD OF EXCELLENCE IN MARITIME INFRASTRUCTURE MODERNIZATION & GLOBAL COMPETITIVENESS

The Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho, was on Sunday, December 7th, 2025, honoured at the Nigeria Excellence Awards in Public Service (NEAPS), held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. He received the prestigious Award of “Excellence in Maritime Infrastructure Modernization & Global Competitiveness.”

The NEAPS Award, a presidential initiative coordinated by the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, is designed to publicly acknowledge and decorate public officials who have demonstrated exceptional performance in the discharge of their duties.

Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho’s recognition stems from his outstanding contributions, including deepening operational efficiencies that helped achieve a national trade surplus through significant growth in exports. He has also played a pioneering role in advancing the National Single Window (NSW) through the Port Community System (PCS), spearheading global investor interest in the modernization of Nigeria’s port infrastructure and equipment.

His leadership has further elevated Nigeria’s standing among maritime nations, reflected in the country’s presidency of the Port Management Association of West Africa (PMAWCA), his role as Vice President of the International Association for Ports & Harbours (IAPH), and the supportive contributions—guided by the Minister of Marine & Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola—towards Nigeria’s successful re-enlistment into the influential Category C of the International Maritime Organization (IMO).
