Breaking:Tinubu Approves Posting of 65 Ambassadors to Foreign Missions Worldwide

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the deployment of 65 ambassadors to Nigeria’s diplomatic missions across the globe, including the United Nations, following their confirmation by the Nigerian Senate last December.

The list comprises 31 career diplomats and 34 non-career ambassadors who will serve as Nigeria’s representatives in various countries and international organisations.

The announcement was made in a State House statement issued by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga. According to him, the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs Nigeria has already secured agrément from the United Kingdom for Nigeria’s High Commissioner-designate, Aminu Dalhatu.

Similarly, the government of France has granted agrément for Ambassador-designate Ayodele Oke.

Among the non-career ambassadors approved by the president are Grace Bent to Togo, Ita Enang to South Africa, Reno Omokri to Mexico, and Olufemi Pedro to Australia.

Others include Lateef Kayode Are to the United States, Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau to China, Jimoh Ibrahim as Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, and Isaac Folorunso Adewole to Canada.

Also appointed are Femi Fani-Kayode to Germany, Mahmud Yakubu to Qatar, and Nora Ladi Daduut to South Korea.
For the career diplomatic postings, ambassadors include Ahmed Mohammed Monguno to Egypt, Shehu Ilu Barde to Ghana, Muhammad Saidu Dahiru to India, Bako Adamu Umar to Morocco, and Ibrahim Danlami to Kenya.

The presidency said nominations of the remaining ambassadors have been forwarded to their respective host countries requesting diplomatic approval, known as agrément, in line with international diplomatic practice.

President Tinubu also directed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to immediately commence an induction programme for all ambassadors-designate and high commissioners before their deployment to their various missions.
