The Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council, Grace Ike, has called on public relations professionals to uphold integrity and foster unity in their practice.

Speaking during her induction into the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, Ike emphasised the critical role of ethical communication in today’s rapidly evolving information landscape.

“In an era of misinformation, public relations professionals must lead with integrity and promote dialogue that unites rather than divides,” she said.

She noted that the growing spread of false information and digital disruption demands a renewed commitment to truth, transparency, and responsible storytelling among communication experts.

Ike further stressed that public relations goes beyond managing image, highlighting its role in shaping public perception, building trust, and strengthening societal cohesion.

Her remarks come as stakeholders continue to advocate higher ethical standards in both journalism and public relations to safeguard public trust and national credibility.
