Mr. Sunday Kotor, Senior Special Assistant on Protocol to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, has collapsed and died at a private event.
Kotor suddenly slumped on Friday during the ceremony and was rushed to a nearby medical facility for urgent attention.
Despite efforts by doctors to revive him, he was pronounced dead later that evening.

His sudden passing has thrown colleagues and associates within the Delta State Government into mourning, with many describing the incident as shocking and deeply tragic.
Kotor was a well-known figure in government circles and a familiar voice at official functions, where he served as a Master of Ceremonies for decades.
He played a prominent role in the protocol unit at Government House and co-anchored numerous high-profile state events, earning a reputation for professionalism and consistency.
Over the years, he served under successive administrations, including former governors Emmanuel Uduaghan and Ifeanyi Okowa, and continued in the role under the current administration.
The late Kotor was from Okwagbe in Ughievwen Kingdom, Ughelli South Local Government Area of the state.
Meanwhile, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on Saturday reacted to the incident, describing it as devastating.
The governor noted that the late aide made crucial contributions to the coordination of official functions of the state.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Festus Ahon, the governor paid tribute to Kotor for his dedication and years of service.
“Late Sunday Kotor was wholly dedicated to his job. His passing is a huge loss, not only to his family but to the government and people of Delta State,” he said.
The governor condoled with the family of the deceased, particularly his younger brother, Conference Kotor, who also serves in the administration.
