NADDC DG Calls For Harnessing Of Nigeria’s Talents In Auto Sport For Economic Development
The Director General of National automotive Design and Development Council, NADDC, Otunba Oluwemimo Osanipin has called on stakeholders to effectively harness Nigeria’s talents and potentials in auto sport to enhance the development of the sector in the country.
Otunba Oluwemimo Osanipin made the call while speaking during an Auto Sport Show in Abuja.
He said auto sport is the hallmark of technological advancement and the ability to take a standard vehicle and through the deep technical knowledge modify it to suit every situation which is more than just fixing cars but the application of science to conquer challenges.
According to him, the adaptation of auto sport has shaped the global automotive industry.
“We have a lot of talents in auto sport in Nigeria and what we need to do is to refine and polish them because auto sport is a big business and today we have a 16 yesrs old boy in UK thriving on behalf of Nigeria and he’s making a living out of it and his parents have relocated to UK to give him more support therefore we want to produce more of this young chap hence the need for this event” the NADDC DG stated.
In his words “By bringing structure to auto sport, we’re building a workforce of specialized engineers, safety experts and innovators who will drive pur nation forward and contribute to national economic development”.
He expressed NADDC readiness to support Niger Auto Sport towards promoting the sector and enhance the growth of the country’s automobile industry.
In a remark, the President of Niger Auto Sport, Dr Zarah Abubakar advised the youths to take advantage provided in auto sport for self empowerment.
She also enjoined the Nigeria Sports Commission, NSC, to develop keen interest towards developing suto sport in the country.
The President of Niger Auto Sport added that plans have been concluded to showcase an auto sport event in Ondo State as part of measures to further promote the industry in Nigeria.
