The senator representing Kebbi South, Garba Maidoki has defected from the ruling party, the (APC), to the (ADC).
His letter of defection from the APC to the ADC was read on the floor of the Senate on Tuesday by the Deputy President of the Senate, .

In the letter, Maidoki stated: “I am writing to inform Your Excellency, the President of the Senate, and my distinguished colleagues about my defection from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

“My decision is based on the lingering internal crisis within the APC, which has made my political aspiration a source of concern. I believe that the ideals of the ADC are better suited to serve the interests of my senatorial district and Nigeria at large.”
Maidoki further noted that the APC had failed to uphold its slogan of justice, peace and unity, particularly in Kebbi State during the recently concluded primary elections.
“Mr. President and my distinguished colleagues, it is in this regard that I wish to formally inform you of my defection to the ADC, which I believe provides a better platform for the realization of my political aspirations,” he said.
