Tinubu Names Ex-Reps Spokesman Namdas BCDA DG, Appoints Obahiagbon, Reappoints Umeoji to NDPHC

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed former House of Representatives spokesman, Abdulrazak Sa’ad Namdas, as the Director-General of the Border Communities Development Agency (BCDA).

The President also appointed former Edo lawmaker Patrick Obahiagbon as Executive Director, Strategy and Commercial, of the Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC), while reappointing former Anambra lawmaker Chukwuma Umeoji as Executive Director, Corporate Services, of the company.

The appointments were announced in a statement issued on Friday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

Namdas succeeds Dr. Dakorinama Alabo George, who resigned to pursue an elective position in his home state.

A former member of the House of Representatives who represented Ganye/Jada/Mayo Belwa/Toungo Federal Constituency of Adamawa State, Namdas served as spokesperson of the 8th House of Representatives. Before venturing into elective politics, he had a career in journalism and public relations, serving as Chief Press Secretary to former Adamawa State Governor Boni Haruna. He also contested in the recently concluded Adamawa governorship primary election.

In the Niger Delta Power Holding Company, Obahiagbon replaces Engineer Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama, who resigned as Executive Director, Strategy and Commercial, to pursue his political ambition.

Obahiagbon previously served in the Edo State House of Assembly before representing his constituency in the House of Representatives.

President Tinubu also returned Umeoji to the NDPHC board as Executive Director, Corporate Services, after the former House of Representatives member for Aguata Federal Constituency in Anambra State stepped down from the position to contest for political office.

According to the Presidency, all the appointments take immediate effect.
