YYouWiN! Drive Gets Fresh Push at Yakubu Gowon University

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Abuja, now Yakubu Gowon University, Professor Fawehinmi, has called on the Federal Government to revamp the YYouWiN! programme and other entrepreneurship initiatives to create more opportunities for Nigerian youths and promote self-reliance beyond government employment.

He made the appeal on Thursday during the presentation of free books and a lecture organised by the Federal Ministry of Finance at the university.
Professor Fawehinmi commended the Federal Government for sustaining the YYouWiN! programme and urged the Ministry of Finance to introduce more innovations that would expand its impact on young entrepreneurs.
The Vice-Chancellor also appealed to the government to ensure that students of Yakubu Gowon University are included in all entrepreneurship programmes, noting that the institution has made deliberate efforts to domesticate entrepreneurship development among its students.
Represented at the event by the Director of the Centre for Entrepreneurship and Students Mentorship, Professor Lateef Adeniran, the Vice-Chancellor reiterated the university’s commitment to equipping students with entrepreneurial skills.
The programme featured lectures as well as the distribution of a book highlighting the success stories of entrepreneurs from around the world.
