Lady Eunice Chintua Offor, JP, Dies at 72
The Offor family has announced the passing of Lady Eunice Chintua Offor, JP, a retired teacher, entrepreneur, baker and devoted Christian, who died after a life dedicated to service, faith and humanity.
Lady Offor, who was born in January 1954 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Nzewata Onyenweama, devoted much of her professional life to education, where she impacted the lives of numerous young people as a teacher.
Beyond the classroom, she distinguished herself as an entrepreneur and event planner, while also gaining recognition for her baking skills, particularly her wedding and birthday cakes.
She also served as a contractor to several ministries, departments and agencies in Abia State, contributing to community and institutional development through her entrepreneurial engagements.
A committed Christian, Lady Offor was a member of the Order of Knights and Ladies of St. Christopher, Umuahia Diocese, and served the Church as a Lay Reader.
Family members described her as a woman of remarkable generosity, strong faith and selfless service, whose life was defined by compassion and dedication to others.
She was married to the late Sir Jonah Offor, KSC, and is survived by eight children, one adopted child, 12 grandchildren and other relatives.
The family said she lived a life marked by service, faith, industry and love, adding that her legacy would continue to live on through the lives she touched.
Lady Eunice Chintua Offor will be laid to rest on Friday, September 4, 2026.
In a statement announcing her death, Prince Chigozie Offor, on behalf of the Offor family, expressed gratitude to God for her life and called for prayers for the repose of her soul and strength for the bereaved family.
May her gentle soul rest in perfect peace. Amen.
