New Sheriff in Town: Enitan Takes Charge of Federal Civil Service

The Federal Civil Service has a new administration, with Mr. Abel Olumuyiwa Enitan officially assuming office as the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HCSF).

Mr. Enitan succeeds Mrs. Didi Walson-Jack, who retired from service after attaining the statutory retirement age of 60. The formal handover ceremony was held in Abuja after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu swore in the new HCSF at the State House.
Speaking during the ceremony, the immediate past HCSF, Mrs. Walson-Jack, expressed appreciation to President Tinubu for the opportunity and privilege to serve the nation at the highest level of the Federal Civil Service. She also thanked the management and staff of the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation for their support, encouragement, patience and commitment throughout her tenure.
Walson-Jack further appreciated Permanent Secretaries, Directors, Heads of Agencies and the entire Federal Civil Service for their support and partnership in advancing the work of the Service. She stressed that the transformation of the Civil Service was not about individuals, but about Nigeria and the collective responsibility to provide citizens with quality public services.
She emphasised the importance of having competent, professional and committed public servants who can contribute to effective service delivery and national development.
In his response, the new HCSF, Mr. Abel Olumuyiwa Enitan, thanked President Tinubu for the confidence reposed in him and acknowledged the enormous responsibility entrusted to him. He commended Mrs. Walson-Jack for her contributions to the transformation of the Federal Civil Service.
Enitan pledged to build on the reforms and foundation laid during her tenure, with a focus on greater efficiency, professionalism and improved service delivery.
