COMPREHENSIVE HIGH SCHOOL, ILUTITUN OLD STUDENTS’ ASSOCIATION CELEBRATES GOLDEN JUBILEE, MARKS 50 YEARS OF EXCELLENCE, LEGACY AND IMPACT
The Comprehensive High School, Ilutitun Old Students’ Association is delighted to announce the Golden Jubilee Anniversary of Comprehensive High School, Ilutitun, marking 50 remarkable years of academic excellence, character formation, leadership and service to humanity.
Established five decades ago, Comprehensive High School, Ilutitun has remained an important institution in the educational development of Ilutitun and its environs.
Over the years, the school has produced graduates who have distinguished themselves in various professions and contributed meaningfully to the development of their communities and the nation at large.
The Golden Jubilee celebration, scheduled for September 28 to October 4, 2026, is designed not only to celebrate the remarkable journey of the school but also to reconnect old students, celebrate past and present stakeholders, honour deserving individuals and further contribute to the continued development of the institution. The week-long programme features a series of activities, including environmental sanitation code named “Operation Let the Forest Fall;” a football match; tree and flower planting; health talk; CHS @ 50 Lecture; AI/Digital Training for Teachers; an inter-school Quiz and Debate Competition, the “Let’s See Ilutitun Again” Rally; and the CHS Novelty Match appropriately titled “The Old versus The New”.
The celebration will also feature the Golden Jubilee Anniversary Celebration, dedication for use of the newly built and fully furnished “Legacy school gate” and the “CHSIOSA Corper’s Lodge “awards; fundraising and luncheon which will be followed by the Golden Jubilee Dinner and Networking. The activities will be rounded off with a Thanksgiving Service on October 4th St the Cathedral of Ebenezer, Diocese on the Coast, Ilutitun-Osooro.
Speaking on the significance of the anniversary, Comrade Akinsuyi, the chairman Golden Jubilee Publicity Committee, while corroborating the president of the alumni, High Chief Olusegun Netufo, described the occasion as a celebration of heritage, memories, achievements and renewed commitment to the future of the school.
She noted that “50 years is not merely a milestone; it is a testimony to the enduring value of education and the collective efforts of generations of teachers, students, parents, old students and other stakeholders who have contributed to the growth of Comprehensive High School, Ilutitun.”
In the same vein, the chairman and co-chairman of the anniversary fundraising/planning committee, Rev Dr Sunday Akingbelure and Dr Olorunyomi Akinboyo respectively both urged CHSIOSA members and the general public to continuously assist the school by giving substantially to the school that made them.
Comrade Akinsuyi therefore calls on old students, current students, staff, parents, traditional institutions, government representatives, community leaders, friends of the school and the entire Ilutitun community to identify with the historic celebration.
As the Yoruba elders say, one tree cannot make a forest. The Golden Jubilee presents another opportunity for all stakeholders to come together, reconnect with their roots and contribute to building a stronger future for the institution.
The Comprehensive High School, Ilutitun Old Students’ Association therefore invites everyone to come home, reconnect, celebrate and support as the school marks five decades of learning, leadership and lasting memories.
