2027 Presidency: Ijebor Says Obi’s Support Base Is Growing

An ally of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) and a supporter of Peter Obi’s presidential ambition, Engr. Anselm Ijebor, has affirmed that the persistent attacks on Peter Obi, the NDC presidential candidate, are geared towards his victory in 2027.
According to Ijebor, the attacks on Peter Obi are rather strengthening his acceptability, widening his popularity and increasing awareness of his capacity, policies and programmes that align with good governance and the yearnings and aspirations of Nigerians.
Engr. Ijebor, who made the assertion in an interview with journalists in Abuja on Tuesday, said his conviction to stand for Peter Obi was born out of a genuine intention to grow the country economically and salvage Nigeria from artificial suffering, abject poverty and backwardness among the comity of nations.
“Peter Obi will be overwhelmingly voted in the forthcoming presidential election. His progressive records during his eight years as governor in Anambra State and other policies and programmes designed to grow and salvage the country are enough to speak for him,” Ijebor said.
The Obi ally, who doubles as a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), maintained that the NDC presidential candidate’s consistent messaging on cutting the bloated cost of governance, moving Nigeria towards a production-driven economy, and his commitment to prioritising foundational sectors such as security, education and poverty alleviation have drawn positive remarks from citizens looking for a departure from traditional political promises.
Engr. Ijebor, while urging Nigerians to protect their votes and demand transparent and credible polls in 2027, disclosed that prominent figures were in alignment with Peter Obi’s reform agenda, reinforcing confidence in his leadership capacity for the upcoming electoral cycle.
“President Bola Tinubu might announce Peter Obi himself as the winner of the 2027 presidential election,” he said, insisting that the NDC presidential candidate, Peter Obi, will win the 2027 election.
He further assured electorates that Obi and his running mate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, would win if the elections were allowed to be free, fair and credible, unless somebody decided to use the machinery of government to take it away from them.
Engr. Ijebor emphasised that Peter Obi would win the 2027 presidential election, describing him as a visionary leader with progressive records, ideas and intellect to deliver Nigeria.
He added that he had sought what he believed to be divine guidance on Nigeria’s presidential elections since 2007.
