Nig @ 66: Afiz Congratulates Nigerians Restates Tinubu’s Continuous Support To Artisans On Skills Development
The Convener of the Nigerian Artisans For Renewed Hope Initiative, Dr Afiz Oluwatoyin Ogun has congratulated President Bola Tinubu and all Nigerians most especially artisans and youths on the occasion of Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary.
In his independence message in Abuja, Dr Afiz Oluwatoyin Ogun said despite challenges confronting the country, there is still need to appreciate God for the continuous corporate existence of Nigeria.
He said President Bola Tinubu through his renewed hope agenda has been able to positively redirect the affairs of the country in the areas of infrastructural development, revamping of the nation’s economy, students loan, upgrading of primary healthcare centres, youth and women empowerment, regular payment of salaries to civil servants, agricultural development and strengthening of the nation’s security apparatus for effective protection of lives and property in the country.
While urging Nigerians to remain hopeful as the country moves towards recovery, peace and Sustainable Development, Dr. Afiz Oluwatoyin Ogun said the President acknowledged the challenges Nigeria faced faced since independence noting that the country had also recorded significant progress.
He also urged Nigerians to effectively support the policies and programmes of President Bola Tinubu’s administration pointing out that the ongoing reforms require time and sustained commitment to deliver results.
Dr. Afiz Oluwatoyin Ogun who is also the Director General of the Industrial Training Fund, ITF, stated that the administration in the last three years had also trained and empower hundreds of thousands of Nigerian Artisans through its Skill Up Artisans SUPA, Programme.
He reiterated the determination of the present administration towards consolidating on the successes recorded so far on skills development among Nigerian artisans if reelected for second term
According to him, a Train the Trainers Capacity Workshop by a certified British body is currently going on in Abuja as part of ITF’s commitment on skills development for Nigerian artisans nationwide.
He added that measures had equally been out in place through Business Incubation to enable the beneficiaries of the SUPA Programme be productively engaged while the ITF is collaborating with the Bank of Industry, BOI, and other financial institutions to enable the beneficiaries of the SUPA Programme have access to finance to start their businesses after graduation.
Dr. Oluwatoyin Ogun therefore advised Nigerian Artisans to go out there and mobilize support for the reelection of President Bola Tinubu during next year’s Presidential election to enable him consolidate on the gains of the SUPA Programme in the interest of Nigerian Artisans and teeming youths and women in the country.
