Eight months after the cold-blooded murder of a retired teacher at her Agbaakin Emere residence in the Bode-Olude area of Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, the state Police Command has recorded a breakthrough in the investigation with the arrest of the alleged murderer.

The 61-year-old Mrs Adedotun Adeteju Oluwaseun was reportedly murdered on Friday, February 27, 2026, after returning from a retirement party organised by her colleagues.

Her lifeless body was discovered in the toilet of her apartment the following day, Saturday, February 28, 2026.

According to a statement issued by the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, preliminary police findings indicated that the late retired teacher was allegedly strangled and attacked with a machete during an altercation with the suspect.

While the alleged murderer basked in the euphoria of what he believed was a successful mission, little did he know that the law would eventually catch up with him.

According to the police, his day of reckoning came on Monday, October 19, 2026, following sustained investigative efforts by operatives of the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Eleweran.
