The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that only Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres that meet its prescribed standards will be accredited to conduct the 2027 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

JAMB Registrar, Prof. Segun Aina, disclosed this during a meeting with the leadership of Chief External Examiners on Thursday, according to a post on the Board’s X handle.

The meeting focused on preparations for the accreditation exercise ahead of the 2027 UTME and an assessment of the readiness of examination officials.

JAMB said the accreditation exercise would ensure that only centres with the required facilities and operational capacity are approved, thereby guaranteeing candidates a fair and secure examination environment, irrespective of their locations.

“Only centres that meet JAMB’s standards will be accredited to host the examination. For candidates, that means a fair and secure place to sit the UTME, wherever they write it,” the Board stated.

The Board further emphasised that strict compliance with accreditation requirements remains mandatory for centres seeking to participate in the examination.

It said the measure is part of ongoing efforts to ensure the credibility and integrity of the examination.
