Emmanuel Ekeh Remains Recognised Traditional Leader in Kado Village – ICA Chairman
The Eze Igbo of Abuja, His Royal Highness, Eze Dr. Ibe Nwosu, has reaffirmed that HRH Emmanuel Ekeh remains the Udokamma 1 and Ochigbo 2 of Kado Village in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Speaking at a joint press conference in Abuja, Eze Dr. Ibe Nwosu said he personally crowned HRH Emmanuel Ekeh as the Udokamma 1 and Ochigbo 2 of Kado Village on December 4, 2025.
The royal father consequently warned anyone impersonating HRH Emmanuel Ekeh as Eze Ndigbo in Kado Village to desist from such acts to avoid sanctions.
The Eze Igbo of Abuja also used the opportunity to advise Igbo sons and daughters in Kado Village to continue living in peace and harmony and shun acts capable of undermining the unity and peaceful coexistence of Ndigbo in the community.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the Igbo Community Association (ICA), Kado Village, in the Federal Capital Territory, Amb. Dr. Paschal Anyanwu, expressed concern over the attitude of one Friday Edeh Onora, who is allegedly parading himself as the Eze Ndigbo in Kado Village.
Amb. Dr. Paschal Anyanwu maintained that HRH Emmanuel Ekeh is the only recognised Udokamma 1 and Ochigbo 2 of Kado Village, describing anyone else parading himself as such as a counterfeit.
According to him, the Eze Ndigbo chieftaincy title in Kado Village is rotational, and it is currently the turn of Imo State following the demise of the former holder of the title.
This, he explained, led to the coronation of HRH Emmanuel Ekeh by the Eze Igbo of Abuja on December 4, 2025.
Amb. Dr. Paschal Anyanwu also called on Igbo sons and daughters in Kado Village to disregard anyone impersonating HRH Emmanuel Ekeh as the Udokamma 1 and Ochigbo 2 of Kado Village.
He said the ICA would continue to promote peaceful coexistence among Igbos in Kado Village in pursuit of the aims and objectives of the association.
On his part, the Udokamma 1 and Ochigbo 2 of Kado Village in the Federal Capital Territory, HRH Emmanuel Ekeh, stressed the need for the person allegedly impersonating him to desist in the interest of peace and harmony.
HRH Emmanuel Ekeh, who commended the sons and daughters of Ndigbo in Kado Village for supporting him since his coronation last year, promised not to betray the confidence reposed in him as their traditional leader.
He therefore urged them to continue contributing their quota towards the progress and development of Kado Village and the Federal Capital Territory in general.
