Abaji Varsity: FCT University of Science and Technology to Begin Operations Under Tinubu
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) University of Science and Technology in Abaji will begin operations during the administration of President Bola Tinubu.
The Minister of the FCT, Dr. Nyesom Wike, gave the assurance in Abaji, Abuja, during a thank-you visit. He explained that the FCT Administration had already commenced the development of infrastructure and other critical facilities required for the take-off of the university.
He therefore urged residents to remain patient, stressing that President Tinubu would ensure the university becomes a reality.
The Minister also pledged to construct the Gurara Market bridge, address the gully erosion affecting two communities, and reactivate a 15-kilometre abandoned road linking two other communities in the area.
Dr. Wike equally announced the upgrade of all third-class chiefs to second-class chiefs, and all second-class chiefs to first-class chiefs.
Earlier, the Chairman of Abaji Area Council, Alhaji Abubakar Abdullahi, said Abaji had little Federal Government presence before Dr. Wike’s appointment as FCT Minister. He thanked President Tinubu for giving Abaji a true sense of belonging.
