ACCI President Leads Executive Council on 2025 Annual Retreat To Adamawa State, Strengthening Regional Business Collaboration

The President of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), Chief Emeka Obegolu, SAN, PhD, led the Executive Council and members of ACCI on their 2025 Annual Retreat to Adamawa State, reinforcing intra-chamber collaboration and noble learning.

The delegation received a warm welcome in Yola, the state capital, from ACCI’s 2nd Deputy President, Dr. Aliyu Idi Hong, who hosted the visiting team.

As part of the retreat’s activities, Chief Obegolu led the delegation on a courtesy visit to His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, Governor of Adamawa State. The visit included engagements with the Executive Members of the Adamawa Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (ADCCIMA).

During the visit, Chief Obegolu, SAN, PhD, presented Governor Fintiri with the Award of Excellence as the Best Governor in Business Support and Development, in recognition of his exceptional commitment to fostering business growth and economic development in Adamawa State.

In addition, Adamawa State received the “Biggest Pavilion Award” for its outstanding participation in the 19th Abuja International Trade Fair (AITF), held between September and October 2024.

Speaking at the presentation, Chief Obegolu commended Governor Fintiri’s visionary leadership, highlighting key initiatives such as the establishment of the Huba kingdom and six other new emirates and chiefdoms across the state while he also emphasised that these efforts have significantly contributed to creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive.

“Governor Fintiri’s dedication to economic progress is truly commendable. His leadership continues to pave the way for increased investment, trade, and business development,” Chief Obegolu stated.

On the sidelines of the retreat, Chief Obegolu, SAN, PhD, led his delegation to Hong Town in Hong Local Government Area, where Governor Fintiri officially presented the Staff of Office to His Royal Majesty, Alheri Bulus Nyako, marking his installation as the first Tol Hoba and ruler of Hong Local Government. The historic event, held at a newly constructed sporting facility in Hong, was attended by dignitaries, traditional rulers, and community leaders from across the state.

Chief Obegolu congratulated the newly crowned ruler and presented him with an ACCI plaque, symbolizing his recognition as part of Nigeria’s foremost Chamber of Commerce.
