The Super Eagles of Nigeria have officially unveiled their starting line-up for Saturday’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 quarter-final encounter against Algeria, scheduled to take place at the Stade de Marrakech.
Leading Nigeria’s attack is prolific striker Victor Osimhen, who will be flanked by Ademola Lookman and Akor Adams, as the Eagles aim to secure a coveted place in the tournament’s semi-finals.
In midfield, Alex Iwobi and Bruno are tasked with driving creativity and linking play, while Wilfred Ndidi captains the side from the centre, anchoring the midfield with his trademark balance of defensive solidity and distribution.
At the back, Stanley Nwabali starts in goal, protected by a defensive unit that includes Bright Osayi-Samuel, Semi Ajayi, and Wilfred Ndidi, providing both physical presence and tactical discipline.
On the flanks, Calvin Bassey and Frank Onyeka are expected to stretch play and offer width, supporting Nigeria’s aggressive attacking approach.
The bench features a blend of experience and youthful energy, including Francis Uzoho, Samuel Chukwueze, and Chidozie Awaziem, giving the technical crew multiple options should tactical adjustments be required.
With Nigeria boasting one of the tournament’s most potent attacking records, the selected line-up underlines the Super Eagles’ intent to challenge Algeria’s well-organised defence in what promises to be a high-stakes and fiercely contested quarter-final clash.
