The President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has said that sustained military collaboration between Nigeria and the United States in the fight against terrorism will help restore peace and stability across the country.
Senator Akpabio made this statement while welcoming his colleagues back from the Christmas and New Year recess, noting that strategic partnerships with allies remain critical to addressing security challenges facing the nation.

He described the security gains recorded so far as a reflection of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s firm commitment to strengthening national security and reaffirming Nigeria’s resolve to work with its allies in confronting forces that threaten peace and stability in the country.
Meanwhile, the Senate observed a minute of silence in honour of the late Senator Godiya Akwashiki, who passed away on December 31 last year, before adjourning sitting earlier than the usual close of legislative activities.
