The Member representing the AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency, Hon. Joshua Chinedu Obika, has been honoured with a prestigious traditional title by the Sarkin Bwari, Alhaji Awwal Musa Ijakoro II.
Obika was conferred with the title “Hasken Bwari”, meaning Light of Bwari, in recognition of his notable contributions and impactful representation of the constituency, particularly in the areas of healthcare delivery, job creation and inclusive governance.

The latest honour is not Obika’s first traditional recognition. In December 2025, he was similarly turbaned “Hasken Fulani Bwari” by the Fulani community, acknowledging his commitment to unity and development across ethnic lines.
Speaking during the ceremony, traditional leaders commended the lawmaker for what they described as his detribalised style of leadership and exceptional quality of representation. They noted that the title reflects his growing stature as a reliable development partner to the traditional institution and the wider community.
In an earlier acceptance speech, Obika had pledged to remain committed to illuminating the needs and untapped potential of all communities within the constituency. Residents of AMAC/Bwari have expressed expectations that he will sustain this momentum by addressing long-standing challenges and promoting cohesion among diverse groups.
The conferment ceremony further underscored the importance of collaboration between traditional institutions and democratic leadership in advancing grassroots development and strengthening community ties.
