APGA Primary Election: Emeribe urges support for incumbent Mayor

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) conducted a primary election on Tuesday in Umunze, the headquarters of Orumba South Local Government Area, to select its candidate for the position of Mayor. The incumbent, Hon. Shedrack Azubike, emerged victorious in the election.

Dr. Chike Emeribe, one of the mayoral aspirants under the platform of the party, has urged his supporters to accept the results of the election in good faith. Speaking to journalists shortly after the primary election, Emeribe emphasized the importance of conducting politics without bitterness.

“I believe in going into politics without bitterness,” Emeribe said, thanking his supporters for their efforts so far. He urged them to rally behind the incumbent mayor, Hon. Azubuike, and support his bid to bring more democracy dividends to the people of Orumba South.

Emeribe noted that if the people of Orumba South continue to support Azubike fully, he would deliver on his promises and bring development to the local government area. He advised politicians to shun the idea of politics of do-or-die, saying it isn’t in line with democracy.

According to Emeribe, politics of do-or-die can lead to damages and even death, which would not be beneficial to anyone and would defeat the aims and objectives of politics and democracy.

The APGA primary election was conducted peacefully, with Azubike emerging as the winner. Emeribe’s concession speech has been seen as a show of maturity and a commitment to the party’s unity.

The people of Orumba South are now looking forward to the general election.

Hon. Shedrack Azubike is expected to continue his development agenda for the local government area, with the support of his party and the people.

The APGA has congratulated Azubike on his victory and assured him of the party’s full support in the upcoming elections.
